Amazon’s Kindle DX e-book Reader

Amazon launched its Kindle Reader on November 20, 2007. Priced around $ 300+ it is an amazing but an “niche” product. With iPhone offering amazing touch and screen display plus an ability to read eBooks many even wrote an “obituary” for Amazon Kindle. By launching Kindle DX in 2009 Amazon has proved again that it has a product that is unmatched.

Amazon launched Kindle 2 in March 2009 for a similar price and quickly launched Kindle DX on May 6, 2009 at NYC (CEO Jeff Bezos himself launched it on that day) again for a similar price

The new Kindle DX Reader is much larger in size (screen size), much thinner (more like a typical issue of Time Magazine), the display is stunningly sharp, turns pages real fast, uses 3G to download hassle free (wirelessly) a book in less than 60 seconds – no accounts, cables, Wi-Fi hotspot, Internet service provider, costs (except the cost of the “content” may be a book or a journal).

One can access thousands of titles, hundreds of blogs and dozens of newspapers.

It will be interesting to see as to how Amazon Kindle DX grows in the next one year
