HP gets a new CEO

Mark Hurd, earlier CEO of NCR, took over as HP CEO on May 1, 2005 ending two-month long speculation on who will replace ousted Carly Fiorina.

End of uncertainty is good for HP; it remains to be seen if a person with a non-technical background and a person who managed a much smaller empire ($ 6 Billion NCR Vs $ 80 Billion HP) could “turn around” HP, an admired company known for technical innovation, open spirit and engineering precision
